TERMS OF USE — AMPLIA

Last updated: 25 September 2026 · Amplia — an Octo8 app · Android

By downloading or using Amplia you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.

You need to be old enough to hold your own Google account in your country to use the app. Amplia is not directed at children.

1. LICENCE

The app is licensed, not sold. Because you obtained Amplia from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service apply; the terms on this page apply in addition to them.

Octo8 grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Amplia on Android devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use.

2. HEARING AND EQUIPMENT

This is the most important clause on this page. Amplia makes audio louder, and loud audio can permanently damage your hearing.

You choose the level. The dial runs from 0 to 100 %. Up to 75 % — the whole free range — a limiter and a compressor are always in the chain and hold the loud parts back. Above 75 % is the Maximum zone: the sound is denser there and may distort a little, by design. A limiter controls distortion. It does not prevent hearing damage.

3. WHAT THE APP CAN AND CANNOT DO ON YOUR DEVICE

Android does not let every device apply audio effects to the system-wide audio mix. Whether this works on your phone is determined by the manufacturer's audio implementation, not by us.

Device limitations of this kind are not a defect in the app. Refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policy.

5. ACCEPTABLE USE

Do not reverse-engineer the app, do not attempt to defeat or bypass its security or its licence checks, and do not use it unlawfully. Do not use it to produce audio intended to harm anyone's hearing or equipment.

6. YOUR DATA

Amplia has no accounts and no sign-in. Your settings, presets, profiles and exposure history stay on your device — the detail is in the Privacy Policy. Backing them up is your responsibility; deleting the app deletes them. Android's automatic cloud backup is deliberately switched off for Amplia, so those settings are not copied to Google Drive.

7. NO WARRANTY AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

The app is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, to the extent permitted by law.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Octo8 is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the app — including damage to hearing or to audio equipment resulting from levels you chose, and the loss of settings or presets.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live are not affected.

8. CHANGES

We may update these terms; the current version always sits at this address with its date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.

9. GOVERNING LAW AND CONTACT

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Questions: support@octo8.app. A person answers.
